Executive Coaching for Leaders

Leadership in the 21st century is highly competitive, uncertain and more volatile than ever before. Organizations move very quickly in today’s business environment and leaders must keep up.
Many leaders may struggle because they are trying to be someone they are not or are forcing themselves to work in a way that is not natural for them. Operating with courageous authenticity allows you to trust yourself to be candid, honest and transparent in your communications.

CEA coaches ask questions, challenge assumptions, help provide clarity, provide resources, and with permission, provide advice. They often administer and help interpret assessments and may conduct confidential interviews to help our client gain self-awareness, and establish developmental goals.

We define the objectives and outcomes for the engagement. The client answers the question: “If this coaching work is successful, what will be different upon completion and how will you lead and manage more effectively?

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a typical coaching process look like?

While there are many variations, coaching usually involves a series of phases, starting with an introductory session, assessment, goal setting, and developmental planning, and then progressing through the plan, with periodic check-ins with the individual’s manager. The process is over when the development goal(s) is achieved, or when the coach and coachee decide that it should be.

Does coaching have to be in person?

Face-to-face is ideal, given that so much of our communication is non-verbal and it helps in building rapport initially. It’s becoming more common to coach virtually over the phone or via Skype. A combination of all works well.

What to expect?

Throughout the coaching process, you may be asked to step out of your comfort zone because revelations and the greatest growth occur when you allow yourself to take new types of action – beyond how you traditionally work.
