Bloodborne Pathogens
Pathogens are disease-causing microorganisms. Bloodborne pathogens are viruses or bacteria that are present in human blood and body fluids and can cause diseases in humans. The most notable of these are Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) - which is the virus that causes AIDS - Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).
